It all starts with a single voice

“Words mean more than what is set down on paper. It takes the human voice to infuse them with deeper meaning”

-Maya Angelou, Poet and Civil Rights Activist.

My fascination as a voice over artist emanated from the age of 5. Stories fictional or non-fictional playing across the television screen with unique character voices was always captivating. I was drawn to the similarities and differences of these people as my family gathered nightly to watch the shows.  Each night as I laughed, cried, felt anger or anticipation with these characters I knew that I was becoming a storyteller through voice. I would reiterate some tale sounding like one of the characters from an episode and lost sleep thinking about the outcome of a certain character, as the words “stay tuned until next week” would appear on the screen.  This enjoyment led to a journey of exploring stories further by recording voices, graduating from Concordia University with a bachelor’s degree in Television and Film and becoming a professional voice over artist.  My entire life can be traced to my undying quest to connect and be connected with my world.

I enjoy utilizing the human voice behind every story, to engage the power of imagination, educate, communicate and celebrate our likes and dislikes in the world.

To let people know that digital storytelling with voice overs isn’t  just a matter of gossiping or hurting others but a way to unify us all.
